We suffered a death in the family this week, and as a result my wife Amy and I have traveled to Greenville, South Carolina to put to rest her beloved grandmother Marjorie today. Marjorie was an English war-bride who married a dashing young American sailor and came to the United States to start a family with him after V-E Day. She had four wonderful children and lived an impressively long life of 93 years - a good life by any measure, and we are grateful we had so much time to be with her.
Between the travel, the funeral service, and the Thanksgiving holiday this week I have not had time to pen your weekly dose of micro-despair. I will, God willing, resume steady publication of depressing essays next week.
In the meantime, Amy and I wish all of you a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday filled with joy and familial love.
Prompt: “Alexander Macris eating Thanksgiving dinner with his wife, an attractive brunette woman in her mid-30s, high resolution photography.” Apparently ChatGPT is kinder to me than a Snapchat filter…
My condolences. Also, Happy Holidays to you & family!
Yeah; take a Break Bro. The time for "micro-despair" has passed.
It will only be Macro-Despair from this point onward.
"Superfood" micro-greens (for micro-despair) have been supplanted by STEAK, FRIED CHICKEN, etc (i.e. Mountains of macro-despair). Don't push yourself too hard!
A blessed thanksgiving to you and yours!
