As Promised, Shameless Self-Promotion!
Contemplations of Woe are Temporarily Paused for Gratuitous Advertisement of My Activities Of Late
Today I launched my graphic novel, Ascendant Star-Spangled Squadron, on IndieGoGo. We’ve started off well, hitting over $20,000 in funds in the first hour. That’s a promising first day and not altogether in keeping with the contemplations on the tree of woe that normally dominate this blog. We temporarily have become meditations on the shrubbery of prosperity.
Now, perhaps you are wondering: What’s this Star-Spangled Squadron story about, anyway? I could share with you the detailed write-up I carefully crafted for the back cover. But instead I’m going to give you the off-of-the-cuff explanation I gave my friend Bob yesterday when he asked:
Imagine if Christopher Reeves’ Superman teamed up with Pamela Anderson’s Barb Wire to fight Friedrich Nietzsche for control of the ancient Egyptian technology at Area 51. That’s what it’s like.
If that sounds like something you’d enjoy, I hope you’ll check it out. It’s a 96-page full-color graphic novel and it’s good fun. Here’s the link:

And below is some artwork from the graphic novel, including the “patriotic” cover variant and some interior pages. We’re making truth, justice, and freedom great again… at least in the comics.
With that said, I apologize for disrupting the despair with these hopeful images of heroism and valor. Rest assured that we will return to our regularly-scheduled contemplations of woe next month.
No need for Apologies!
The West is gonna be Delenda Est Violently + Brutally anyhow; so a little bit of "shameless self-promotion" is warranted. Especially if it may somehow assist in getting off the sinking ship later down the line. Best of luck on your new Venture!
I stop by to find you off on a side trek with so much of importance going on? You have fallen terribly behind! There's many victories to record in your little blank book from earlier - victories against education, against history, soon, even, against women. Who will record these victories properly, if not you?
